AN appeal is to be held into an application to fell two trees covered by a tree preservation order on land west of 18 Cromwell Gardens, Alton.

East Hampshire District Council refused to grant consent to the warden of retirement home management company Broadleaf for the felling because an arboricultural officer deemed them “healthy and structurally sound".

The officer also considered them to have a "high general amenity value”.

Written representations should be sent to The Planning Inspectorate Environment Team, Room 3/25 Hawk Wing, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN. Ref: APP/M1710/TPO6505 by January 6.
