AN appeal has been made for motorists to think about how parking on pavements affects blind people, after a man walking with a guide dog was hurt in Shortheath Road.
Ian Allaway, 54, has been guided to work at John Allaway and Sons motorcycles in The Street, Wrecclesham, by a canine companion for more than 20 years.
But in the last year, he has found vehicles blocking the pavement to be an increasing hazard.
The incident last Friday, in which he cut his nose, came after his German shepherd guide dog, Freya, stopped because of a lorry parked on the pavement in Shortheath Road.
