ROTHERFIELD District Beavers enjoyed the 2014 Highland Games.

About 80 Beaver Scouts representing Four Marks & Ropley Tarzan, Four Marks & Ropley Willow, 1st Blackmoor & Whitehill, 1st Bordon, 1st Candover Valley, 1st Headley, 2nd Bentley, 3rd Alton, 8th Alton Ashdell, 8th Alton Greenfields and 8th Alton Wootey Beaver colonies gathered at Amery Hill School.

Scout leader Malcolm Vincent greeted the Beavers thanking them for taking part and competing for the Team Cup and the Individual Cup. He told the Beavers that he wanted them to enjoy themselves, have fun but most of all "do their best" and that winning a trophy was just the "icing on the cake".

There were six disciplines: Tossing the Caber, Sprint Relay, Javelin, Hammer Throwing, Dart Balls and Throwing the Haggis to compete in.

The Rotherfield District Scout Beaver Activity Team Cup was won for the third consecutive year by the team from 2nd Bentley with the Individual Winners Cup being won by Reuben Osgood of 8th Alton Ashdell Beaver Colony.

Mr Vincent thanked parents, helpers and volunteers who made the Saturday, September 22 event possible, with special thanks to the Beavers themselves who got into the spirit of the games.
