The change has been made after consultation with its members, and in discussion with Farnham Sports Council, Waverley Borough Council and David Webb, the manager of the leisure centre.
Jenny Taylor, secretary of Farnham Swimability, said: “A programme change like this can be daunting but we already feel there have been more positives than negatives.
“The sports council and leisure centre have both been very helpful and supportive and Waverley have kindly offered to provide additional access features to make disabled swimmers’ visits even more user-friendly.
“We would therefore be delighted to hear from new swimmers and volunteers.”
David Gill, chairman of Farnham Sports Council, added: “We are very keen to promote and encourage disability sport and inclusivity in Farnham and this particular club has given fantastic voluntary service to the town.
“We hope new members will come forward and benefit from the switch to Wednesday afternoons. Swimming is a great way to exercise and socialise and I hope the town continues to support Farnham Swimability and their great work.”
The Farnham and District Sports Association for the Disabled began its service to disabled residents of the Farnham area in 1981 when Farnham Sports Centre opened.
Despite its multi-sport origins, over the years the core activity became swimming, and in 2015, the name was changed to Farnham Swimability. For more information, visit www.farnhamswimability.org.uk.
