The Rt Revd Paul Davies, the Bishop of Dorking, brought warmth, wisdom and encouragement to pupils and staff of All Saints Church of England Infant School during a recent visit.

The day began with collective worship led by the bishop, whose message of kindness, hope and community resonated with both children and adults.

His storytelling and gentle presence created a reflective atmosphere, highlighting the values at the heart of the school’s Christian vision.

Afterwards, Mr Davies spoke with parents, teachers and school leaders, listening to their experiences and offering words of support.

The bishop toured the school, visited classrooms, admired pupils’ work and observed the learning environment. Children eagerly shared their projects and asked questions, which the bishop answered with warmth and enthusiasm.

Headteacher Brigid Walters said: “It was a privilege to welcome the Bishop of Dorking to our school. His visit was uplifting for our whole community and reminded us of the importance of faith, compassion, and connection.”

The visit concluded with a blessing for the school and its mission to provide inclusive education rooted in Christian values. Staff and families described the day as memorable, with many saying the bishop’s presence reinforced the role of faith and fellowship in the community.
