BLACKBUSHE Airport’ is inviting visitors to join its 75th anniversary celebrations at it’s ‘Festival of Flight’ event this summer.

According to organisers, the Festival of Flight will be the largest flying event held at Blackbushe for many years. There will be flying displays, a large static aircraft park, a ground exhibition, pleasure flying, food, music and entertainment.

“From a historical point of view, in 1956 as a result of the Hungarian Uprising many Hungarian refugees first set foot on British soil – of these many arrived at Blackbushe Airport – then a major London airport,” said Peter Brown, from The Blackbushe 75th Team.

“I’m very pleased to say that some of those refugees will be with us for the July celebrations. All profits resulting from the 75th will be donated to three nominated charities, Aerobility, Help for Heroes, and the Dougie Dalzell Memorial Trust.

“Blackbushe Airport has waived all landing and parking fees for participating aircraft operators to further benefit our charities.”
