RESIDENTS of Bridgefield enjoyed their annual garden fete organised by the Neighbourhood Watch Committee in the garden of Jacky and David Protheroe, where it originally started in the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Year.
Since then other neighbours have opened their gardens for the event to keep up the tradition for the past 40 years missing only one.
The team organised much-needed gazebos, ice cold drinks, ices, lollies and a paddling pool for the toddlers. The newly refurbished tree house was a great favourite with the older children.
The proceeds of a raffle together with the sale of drinks and cakes were donated to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
