A Surrey court has handed a one-year driving ban to an Elstead man who failed a drug test.

Freddie Bull was given a mandatory 12-month disqualification by Staines Magistrates after admitting to drug-driving on December 17, 2024.

The court heard the 42-year-old of Weyburn Lane was ordered to take a blood test by police who stopped his Ford on Binscombe Lane in Farncombe.

He later tested positive for Delta-9 THC (Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol), giving a reading of 3.5 microgrammes of analyte per litre of blood, with 2mgs per litre being the threshold.

Bull was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs and charges totalling £133. He also admitted to driving a vehicle with obscured vision, with no separate penalty being imposed.
