CHILDREN at two local primary schools had a special reason to watch last week's opening ceremony at the Paralympic Games.

Northchapel Primary School co-head Julie Robinson and Tracey Sharman, classroom assistant at Camelsdale Primary School, were picked to take part in the umbrella dance sequence.

The friends worked together for four years at Camelsdale Primary School where Julie was a teacher before being seconded to Northchapel for a year in April.

Julie said: "We have never done anything like this before, the atmosphere in the stadium was electric. A truly unforgettable experience."
