BROOK residents will soon have a famous neighbour. Sarah, Duchess of York, has purchased a property in the heart of the village.
According to reports in a national newspaper, the duchess, who has been living in rented mansion in Windlesham, will move into Wareham House, close to the village pub - the Dog and Pheasant - next year.
The 300-year-old property, stands at the end of a 1,000 yard driveway and backs on to stunning views of the South Downs.
It has four bedrooms, a small outdoor pool, a double garage, and greenhouse.
It was owned by an elderly couple for a number of years and the duchess will live there with her daughters Princesses Beatrice, 14, and Eugenie, 12.
New landlord of The Dog And Pheasant, Mark Henshall, believes the duchess will be a welcome addition to the village.
"It's quite exciting and good news for the village. Everybody in the pub was talking about it in here the other night, with no one saying anything unfavourable.
'It would be great if she came in here for a drink and a meal from time to time."
