FREE co-working space SiGNAL, based at Martinique House in Bordon, has been announced as a finalist in the British Small Business Awards in the category of workspace provider of the year.

SiGNAL opened its doors in March, but has already had a significant impact on the businesses that visit. From start-up entrepreneurs looking to turn an idea into reality to established businesses learning new skills, the space and the team offer something unique.

SiGNAL is one of the only coworking spaces in the country to work on a “social-capital model”.

This means business owners can attend and work for free but they must also help other companies in the space by sharing their experience and knowledge when possible.

There are also meeting rooms, wellness suites and a makers room for hire, as well as 3D printers and an expert in residence to help interested entrepreneurs use them.

Founder Emma Selby said: “This is a huge honour for SiGNAL and reflects the passion the whole team feel for connecting, nurturing and supporting small businesses. The quality of the other finalists is so impressive, we are just delighted that the judges could see that despite being relatively small and new, we focus on our users every single day.”

The winners of the British Small Business Awards 2018 will be announced at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on October 31.
