CHILDREN returning to St Peter’s C of E Primary School for the new academic year were welcomed by inspirational messages left mysteriously on the pavement.

Parents at the school were unsure who had left these chalk quotes, but it has since been revealed that it was the vicar at St Peter’s Church Wrecclesham, Reverend Jacqueline Drake-Smith, who had written the messages.

Some of the quotes read, “reach for the stars”, “you’re a star”, “be a friend” and “smile”.

Ashley Oakley, who has a child in year one at the school, said: “Thanks to the person(s) responsible for spreading inspiration and positivity to our children, a fundamental life lesson. I think it is such an uplifting story, it made so many people smile.”
