AN application to remove a mature horse chestnut tree, whch is subject to a Tree Preservation Order, in the grounds of the disused Railway Hotel has been given consent by East Hampshire District Council.

The application caused strong objections about the tree's high amenity value from Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council's tree warden and members of its planning committee.
