ALMOST 300 people packed into a candle-lit St Andrew’s Parish Church on Tuesday last week for the third annual Farnham Christmas Carol Service.

The hour-long service was led by he Reverend Canon Nigel Nicholson, and featured traditional carols, lessons and a dozen performances by the internationally renowned Farnham Youth Choir.

Readings were given by the Mayor of Farnham, Pat Frost, Herald chief reporter Daniel Gee, Peter Greenyer of The Hedgehogs, councillor Jill Hargreaves and Lily Bohling of Farnham Sixth Form College.

The concert was organised by Farnham Town Council with the support of the Farnham Herald, and a retiring collection was held for the Mayor’s nominated charities Farnham ASSIST and Frensham Pond Sailability.

As in previous years, half of the tickets were presented to community organisations with the remaining half allocated to members of the public via a ballot in The Herald.
