WHERE’S Wally? was the question on all the Potters Gate children’s lips as they celebrated World Book Day in March.
Finding the teachers, who had all come to school dressed as Wally, around the school was an exciting addition to the literary day organised by the staff.
Children spent the day discussing their favourite books and characters and enjoyed special time reading with their peers and the teaching staff.
Headteacher Jayne Venables said: “The whole school was buzzing with talk about characters, story themes and book illustrations. We all took part in a book scavenger hunt organised by Katherine Hibberd and her Reading Cafe team which involved using clues to find special books hidden around the school.
“The Reading Cafewas open for children to use at lunchtime to choose new books off a menu with the help of our year six reading ‘waiters’ and ‘waitresses’. The memories we have of the day are very special.”
