CAMPAIGNERS of the Keep Passfield Post Office Action Group are hoping that a report published by the powerful Public Accounts Committee – made up of MPs from all parties – will provide the means to re-open the village post office, which closed in February 2008.
The report, released two weeks ago stated that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skill's research on the social and economic benefit provided by post offices has to date been largely limited to the rural network and that it drew on old assessments, largely completed in 2003.
