A VALENTINE-themed craft session for children at Milland's new community store on Monday proved to be a labour of love.
Kate Chenneour, who has teaching assistant qualifications, has been delivering similar sessions to primary schools, libraries and festival events for the past eight years.
Children aged five and over were able to make and take home a heart-shaped light catcher, a crêpe rose, and a 3-D greetings card.
As Kate kept the children entertained, the parents were able to sit in the café and relax.
Kate said: "We are enjoying our initial success serving Milland and the surrounding area with the community store and we are keen to be more than just a shop.
"We are therefore planning a variety of events to appeal to all sectors of our community."
The Valentine-themed craft session was the first in a series of occasional and seasonal events planned at the store, which opened at the end of last year.
