A LARGE crowd turned out to watch the Christmas lights being switched on at the Whattingham family home in Wrecclesham.
Gail and her family have amassed a collection of more than 100,000 bulbs since 1989 and have raised more than £25,000 for an array of charities in that time.
This year’s display, at 82 Greenfield Road, will raise vital funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in memory of Gail’s long-time companion Chris Meacham.
Chris helped put up the display each December until physically unable to do so, and died aged 71 at the hospice in October after a short battle with cancer.
This year’s light show was switched on by Eagle Radio presenter Lewis Mason, and will illuminate Greenfield Road until early January.
Donations to Phyllis Tuckwell can be posted through Gail’s letterbox or made online by going to the website christopher-meacham.muchloved.com/
