A BORDON politician, who has been a leading figure in debates over the town's eco-future, has resigned to move abroad with his wife.

East Hampshire district councillor Ian Dowdle, who helped in the early stages to draw up outline ideas for the eco-town, had become an outspoken opponent of how the project was being managed by East Hampshire District Council, alleging that the council was failing to listen to residents' views.

He urged townsfolk to make sure they get the "town they wish for".
