SIXTH form students across the Farnham area exceeded A-level national averages yet again this year, when exam results were collected last Thursday.

More than 97 per cent of A-level entries nationwide were awarded A* to E grades this year, while some 26.4 per cent of exams were awarded the top A and A* grades and 78.4 per cent A* to Cs - a drop from 79 per cent last year.

All Hallows’ Sixth Form College students celebrated an impressive 100 per cent pass rate, with 31 per cent of students achieving A* to A grades, 59 per cent achieving A* to B grades and 81 per cent achieving A to C grades.

There was further success for students at Farnham Sixth Form College as they gained an overall pass rate of 98 per cent, with A* to B grades being achieved by 52 per cent of students, two per cent higher than last year.

More House School’s boys also celebrated great results, with 97 per cent achieving the A-level and BTEC level three pass rate - 63 per cent at C grade or higher and 37 per cent at A or A* or BTEC equivalent.

Alton College students achieved an overall pass rate of 98.2 per cent in A-level and vocational courses, with around 52 per cent of students achieving grades of A* to B and 31 per cent achieving A* to A grades or equivalent.
