AT THE END of another extraordinary academic year, Rodborough School was delighted to celebrate the success of the 2021 cohort in their GCSEs.

Headteacher, Matthew Armstrong-Harris said: “Our Year 11 cohort this year have been a real inspiration.

“Their commitment to their studies has not wavered throughout the pandemic and they have demonstrated a great deal of resilience in the way that they have adapted to working online or at school during this period.

“Importantly, they have developed enormously as independent learners which will be a significant help as they move on to the next stage of their education. This year’s outstanding GCSE results reflect their hard work and are a just reward for their commitment.”

The overall pass rate (grade 4 and above) at Rodborough is 92.2 per cent (nationally the figure is 79.1 per cent), and 42.4 per cent of all passes were at grades 7-9 (the national figure is 28.9 per cent).

This year 85 per cent of Rodborough’s Year 11 pupils achieved grade 4 or above in English and mathematics with 70 per cent attaining a grade 5 or above.

Spike Prichard and Martha Walker attained top grade 9s in all 11 of their GCSEs.

In addition, Saskia Barrows, Anna Casey, Cecilia Clifford, Mikaela Ferreira, Maisie Green, Holly Hemmatpour, Kiera Jones, Sam Jordan, Eloise Irvine, Ysabel Kelly, Joe Lincoln, Charles Monroe, Luke Owlett, Jenna Pickering, Pippa Sainthouse, Harriet Shand, Hannah Sollars, Jasmine Spence, Leo Thomas, Hannah Whilding and Isabelle Woodward all gained at least 10 Grade 7s or above.
