FIVE new regular classes for young families and children have launched at Hale Community Centre for the new year.

Cathy Burroughs, centre manager, said these are being introduced to encourage community-spiritedness, as part of a drive “to get people together and to try something different”.

The new classes include:

Babyballet, which promises great fun for boys and girls aged from six months to six years, and will be held on Wednesdays from 9.30am to midday. For more information, call 07861696954 or email [email protected]

Boogie Pumps aims to give children “the time of their lives dancing”, no matter their ability.

It will be held on Fridays from 3.30pm to 4.30pm and Saturdays from 9.30am to midday. For details, call 0756277353 or email [email protected]

Code Club is part of a global network of clubs that provide a platform for children aged nine to 13 years to learn new skills and build confidence in coding.

A free taster session will be held on Saturday, January 11, from 10am to midday; followed by a six to eight week course. For further information, call 01252 722363 or email [email protected]

The other two new groups being launched are the centre’s own initiatives.

Cook ‘n’ Eat Together Cookery Sessions will offer the chance for parents and children to cook and eat new things together using seasonal produce from the centre’s community garden.

Meanwhile, Share a Story Together promotes the enjoyment of stories and reading for children aged five to seven years, and will be held on Wednesdays from 3.30pm to 4.30pm, starting on January 15. Sessions are free.
