It was a results day with plenty to celebrate at Undershaw Education Trust – but for some students, the biggest surprise was just how far they had smashed their targets.

Among the stand-out performers was Seb, who walked away with a Grade 9, two Grade 8s, two Grade 7s and a BTEC Level 2 Merit – beating his target in every subject.

Reece also when above and beyond, exceeding his target grades by three grades in every subject, while Molly collected two Grade 7s, three Grade 6s and a BTEC Level 2 Distinction.

“We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students this year,” said Executive headteacher Emma West. “Their results are a testament to their hard work, resilience and determination, as well as the strong partnerships between students, families and our dedicated staff.”

Across the school, 42 per cent of all GCSE grades were Grade 6 or above, with particularly strong performances in English, science and computer science.

English proved a particular success, with 83 per cent achieving Grade 6 or above and every student securing Grade 5 or higher. Computer science also recorded a 100 per cent Grade 5+ pass rate, while all students achieved Grade 4+ in combined science and geography.

History students produced another eye-catching result, with 80 per cent achieving Grade 5 or above, while some exceeded their targets by as many as four grades.

Every student achieved or exceeded their target in BTEC qualifications, including art, media and home cooking.

Maths saw 60 per cent achieve Grade 4 or above, while two Post-16 students secured the top EPQ grades of A and B.

Ms West added: “These outcomes reflect our commitment to ensuring every young person is supported to achieve their full potential.

“We look forward to seeing them embrace the opportunities ahead and are confident they will continue to thrive and succeed."
