AS part of their core physical education curriculum this year, Weydon students are trying out a number of different types of activities in addition to the more traditional sports.
Several groups have already been travelling to Surrey Sports Park to take part in climbing sessions, and after Christmas other students will be undertaking dry slope skiing at the Alpine Snowsports Centre in Aldershot.
Further exciting opportunities exist among others for the students to take part in self-defence classes run by Farnham School of TaeKwondo, and also a range of dance fitness activities run by Surrey Dance Fitness.
Karl Brown, Weydon’s curriculum area leader for PE, said: “We are constantly looking to provide a variety of activities in core physical education lessons during year 11 in order to introduce students to new and different ways to engage in sport as they move into adult life.”
