The 50th edition of the Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide includes eight East Hants CAMRA branch pubs.

A new entry is the historic George in Butts Road, Alton, where Punch tenant Tim Lees took over after refurbishment in July last year. He rapidly established a reputation for beer quality and good food.

Other East Hants branch entries include its Pub of the Year, the Ten Tun Tap House in Market Square, Alton, and two more Alton pubs, the Eight Bells and the Railway Arms.

Representing the surrounding villages are the Prince of Wales, Hammer Vale, the Queen’s Head, Holybourne, the Golden Pheasant, Lower Farringdon and the Selborne Arms, Selborne.
