A SPECIAL exhibition taking place this month at Haslemere Museum celebrates the centenary of one of the town’s well known hospitals.
Including pictures and commentary from the archives of Holy Cross Hospital it tells the story of how the hospital came to Haslemere and how it has adapted and evolved from a TB sanatorium to a hospital that provides long-term support and rehabilitation for people with extremely complex needs.
Hospital chief executive Christopher Hinton said: “Holy Cross has been part of the Haslemere community for 100 years and during that time the community has contributed greatly to the hospital’s history.
“As well as being a source of some of our most loyal and long-serving members of staff, the people of Haslemere have been our biggest supporters, for which we offer our thanks.
“I do hope that anybody who has a connection with the hospital or who has an interest in local history will be able to come along to the exhibition,” added Mr Hinton.
“While visiting, we will be encouraging people to record their memories of Holy Cross and these will be shared on our website,” he said.
• Haslemere Museum in the High Street, is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-5pm.
