MORE than 80 people enjoyed a day of “pampering and relaxing” when they visited the Psychic and Holistic Fair at Alton Community Centre.

The fair, on May 21, offered a range of ways to de-stress as well as guidance and advice for people with emotional, health or family problems.

Organiser Marie Nottridge said the fair is held twice a year.

“This was our first one for 2016 and it went very well,” she said.

“We had 26 stalls and visitors could choose from a range of relaxing therapies from Indian head massage and reflexology to kinesiology, which is working on the body’s energy and muscle balance.”

On the psychic aspect of the fair, Marie explained that it wasn’t about predicting the future or contacting the spirit world but offering help and comfort to people looking for advice on things that could be worrying them or things concerning family and friends.

The centre’s Regency Tea Room, she reported, also had a busy day which helped swell community centre coffers.

Marie said: “The whole idea of the fair is offering people a day of pamper and relaxation while raising money for the community centre and we raised £600.”

A second fair will be held at Alton Community Centre, on Amery Street, on October 1, from 10am-4pm. For more details, call 01420 85757.
