A FARNHAM girl was killed on the A31 Alton Road, when the car she was travelling in overturned on the Farnham-bound carriageway approaching the Coxbridge roundabout.
Nicola Myers (16) was travelling in the back of a red Ford Sierra with two friends, a male driver and a female in the passenger seat, both aged 18, last Thursday night.
Rushmoor fire service were first to arrive and pronounced Nicola dead at the scene after freeing her from the vehicle.
Three ambulances followed and took her friends, who had sustained minor injuries, to Frimley Park Hospital.
This week, Nicola's parents Chris and Linda Myers, owners of the Post Office at Weybourne, paid tribute to their daughter. They write:
"Nicola was born on August 31 1984 in the old military hospital, Aldershot
"She lived at the family home in Tree Side Drive, Weybourne, along with her older sister Laura (18) who is a student at Farnborough Technical college.
"Nikki, as she preferred to be called, was caring, friendly, courteous, well mannered and reliable and always enjoyed meeting people.
"An attractive girl, Nikki took great pride in her appearance and the clothes she wore.
"Listening to R and B music was her greatest passion, as were the family holidays in Orlando.
"Nikki most recently studied at Farnham College where she had completed a one-year course.
"Previously she had attended Heath End Secondary School, William Cobbett County Middle School and Weybourne First School.
"After joining the South Street branch of J. Sainsbury in February on a part-time basis, Nikki had taken up a full-time position just two weeks ago."
She is remembered with great respect and affection by Personnel Manager Trixie Twist, who spoke of her "lovely personality and disposition."
"She was so eager to learn and showed great promise. I didn't realise just how popular she was and for someone who had been there for such a short space of time, she made a huge impact. Most importantly she was always polite, always smiling and popular with both customers and colleagues alike."
She added: "Many of her colleagues knew her from college and are extremely upset."
Mr and Mrs Myers would like to thank their friends and relatives for all the support they have received.
They extend a warm welcome to anyone who knew Nikki to join them in celebrating her life at the funeral which will be held today (Friday, 3 pm) at St John's Church, Hale, Farnham.
The invitation is also extended to the cremation which will follow at 4 pm at Guildford Crematorium.
They would like to encourage those who attend the funeral and cremation to wear colourful clothes, not black.
Flowers should be sent to Farnham Funeral Directors.
