A 13-year-old from Farnham has been named a finalist in this year’s BAFTA Young Game Designers competition.
Ben Batstone is one of four young people from the South East shortlisted for the awards, which celebrate talented games creators aged between 10 and 18.
Ben has been recognised in the Game Concept 10-14 category for his idea, Dive, an underwater exploration game featuring survival challenges.
The game includes mechanics such as hunger, hydration and oxygen bars, which gradually drain as players explore different underwater environments.
The award ceremony will be streamed live on BAFTA’s YouTube channel on June 18 while the winning games will be displayed as part of the Science Museum’s Power Up gaming experience in London, Bradford and Manchester.
