THIS year’s, Farnborough Fashion Festival, at Farnborough College of Technology (FCOT) showed off the impressive summer festival garments made by the college’s young fashionistas.

The pieces were judged by designers and industry representatives. The Best Collection Award was selected by Geoff Cox, creative director of the Top Model Organisation, while designer to Royalty Omar Mansoor, and Louise Rose Couture each chose garments they felt deserved a special commendation.

The Best First Year Garment prize went to Olivia West, followed by Hannah Mills for Best Second Year Garment, and joint winners for The Best Collection award was Stephanie Linkens and Hannah Mills.

The Overall Student of the Year award was presented to Farnham resident Elise George who said: “I have really enjoyed my time at FCOT.

“I’ve learnt so much, and been able take part in some amazing work experience opportunities at Top Model and London Fashion Week.”

During the fashion show interval, students organised a charity raffle. They managed to raise more than £250 for Challengers, a Farnham based charity which provides leisure activities for disabled youngsters.

Farnborough College of Technology fashion lecturer Sam Jones said “I am exceptionally proud of the students and their achievements this year.

“They have worked really well as a team supporting each other throughout their studies while also being highly driven and motivated.

“All of the graduating fashion and textiles students have firm offers at the universities of their choice, and will be going on to study courses ranging from fashion design to fashion promotion and imaging.”
