DESPITE the weather Bells Piece’s annual Christmas fayre was a great success raising nearly £6,000 for Leonard Cheshire Disability, the UK’s leading charity supporting disabled people.

The success was helped by the numerous stalls selling gifts for Christmas including Christmas wreaths, gifts from Simply Unique Art Studio, jams and chutneys made at Bells Piece and winter bedding plants.

Homemade soups, pastries and cakes were on sale, all made by students in the training kitchen.

Jenny Daniels, volunteer co-ordinator at Bells Piece, said: “The whole event could not have taken place if it was not for all the hard work and dedication of the staff and volunteers who were involved on the day, and the days leading up to the event.

“The people who use our service will certainly reap the benefits from such a huge fundraising event.”
