MOTORISTS took advantage of a charity car wash by Farnham firefighters to get their vehicles a good hosing down.

Farnham Fire Station raised £760 for The Fire Fighters Charity and crew members were assisted at the event by 3rd Farnham Scouts.

“We had many more people than we expected,” crew commander Ian Atkinson said. “It was a steady stream.

“People having their cars washed also had a chance to get out and look at the fire engines and our two 4x4 ‘specials’ that we can use off road to fight fires.

“Our next event is our station open day on Saturday, July 30, which will have lots of fun activities for families.”
