A FEW members of the Friends of Potters Gate School went above and beyond baking cupcakes recently by taking part in a firewalk to raise funds for an all-weather running track around the school field.
Three parents - Sarah Cross, Vivienne Evans and Annie Canton - braved the heat of the coals to walk barefoot across the hot embers.
All three reported that there was a definite adrenaline rush as they lined up to take their turn as they were able to feel the intense heat as they waited.
One of the mums, Viv Evans, was able to practise what she preaches as a hypnotherapist for Hypnohealth, at Durham house in Farnham.
She believes that anything is possible with the right mind set and was able to put her talents to good use to help all three mums get over their fears.
To help boost the funds raised, the team from Farnham Fire Station sent down a few firemen in one of their engines to shake their buckets and gather change from willing parent donors.
The firemen raised £72, which took the ladies past their £500 target. Currently they’ve raised a total of £553 but would love to raise even more.
