HOPE has been expressed by councillors that the new owners of the Forest Shopping Centre will step up security.

At a meeting of Whitehill Town Council members were told that the shopping centre has been sold by Fairbourne Ltd Partnership to a new company, Broadmeadow Ltd.

Councillors felt that the current security was not adequate and they hoped to discuss improvements when the new owners had had a chance to take stock of the situation.

Company director of Fairbourne Ltd, David Williams, told The Herald that it was a Òcommercial decisionÓ to sell the centre.

ÒWe are a trading company. We buy and sell property. It was not because we donÕt like Bordon - we were given an offer for the centre and we accepted it,Ó he said.
