A FOREST of runners have put their best feet forward for a series of races through the Alice Holt beauty spot near Farnham.
The annual event, which took place on Saturday, was organised by Farnham Runners, under the directorship of Craig Tate-Grimes.
Runners new and old tried their hand at the 10k and 5k races, but it wasn’t only the adults in the limelight, as the juniors powered their way to the finish lines in the 3k and 1k races.
The course led runners through the picturesque forest of Alice Holt, generally on smooth hard-packed gravel, making it a safer and faster route for off-road running.
Haslemere Border AC runner Luke Shearring was the winner of the 10k race in 35 minutes 43 seconds, and following close behind was Scott Kennedy from Blackwater Valley Runners, who completed the race in 36 minutes seven seconds.
