FARNHAM Fun Palace, a free, nationwide celebration of arts, culture and sciences, is back in town this Saturday (October 1) at the Museum of Farnham.
Visitors can try their hand at 3D doodling, mixed-media art and steam challenges, or take part in a series of creative workshops about refugees – messages in a tree, candles of hope making, origami and hand prints among other things – hosted by Amnesty International.
Farnham Art and Design Education Group (FADEG) will be presenting its ninth community Big Draw. Participants can add marks or words to a series of drawings inspired by artist John Bush’s film which subtly links FADEG members’ phone filmed records of the circular, spiralling, movement of machines, toys, and life.
From 2pm the community are invited to sit down and watch ‘In The Company of Joan’ by Wendy Richardson.
This film examines the contribution by Joan Littlewood (one of the 20th century’s most significant cultural innovators) to British culture, from the perspective of those who spent time in her company as well as those who have been inspired by her work.
This event includes a question and answer session with Wendy Richardson and Christine Jackson.
The Garden Gallery of the museum will play host to the events listed above, plus much more, from 12pm to 7pm on Saturday.
