A TEENAGER encountered jellyfish and strong tides last week as she battled to swim the Channel in memory of her grandfather.

Churcher's College sixth-former Georgina Tuffin, 17, crossed the 35-mile stretch of water – from Samphire Hoe, Dover, to Wissant near Cap Gris-Nez – in just under 12 hours.
