ENERGY supplier SSE is encouraging customers to apply for a £140 discount on their winter heating bills via its Warm Home Discount.

The scheme is about to close to new applicants so the company is encouraging customers who think they might be eligible to get in touch as soon as

possible to make their claim.

As part of the Government scheme, SSE has made millions of pounds available to customers to help with their heating bills over the winter.

The scheme is open to two types of households: the Core Group and the Broader Group, and applications are still being sought for the Broader Group. Customers may be eligible for the discount if they or their partner is in receipt of certain benefits, is chronically sick or is disabled.

However, only a limited number of places remain available.

An estimated 300,000 SSE customers should receive the rebate this winter.
