GRAYSHOTT Cricket Club is no longer stumped for space thanks to a grant of £3,080 from East Hampshire District Council. The money will go towards the cost of a new storeroom which was desperately needed for the club's equipment. Paul Roberts, chairman of the club explained: "The club has grown significantly over the past two years through the increase in our youth membership and the establishment of a new girls and ladies section. "That meant we grew out of the space we had before, and we were having to keep equipment in the changing rooms which are needed for training and matches. "We're really grateful for this money from the district council, which will help us continue to grow." Jennifer Gray, health and healthy lifestyles portfolio holder at East Hampshire District Council, said: "It is great to see this traditional mainstay of the English summer going from strength to strength in Grayshott. I'm very pleased the council has been able to support the club as it expands, and I am sure the team will take more than their fair number of wickets in the future!. The grant came from the Community Initiative Fund. The storeroom was jointly funded by the club and Grayshott Parish Council.
