THE Hindhead Tunnel will open to traffic next Wednesday, the Highways Agency announced this week.

On July 27, Secretary of State for Transport Philip Hammond will open the A3 tunnel, which is the longest of its type in the UK and is part of a £371m scheme to bypass Hindhead.
