EAST Hampshire MP Damian Hinds has been tipped for a top government job as a Cabinet reshuffle is thought to be imminent.
According to the Mirror newspaper, Prime Minister Theresa May is planning to axe “up to a quarter” of her most senior colleagues.
It was reported that five of her 21 Cabinet ministers could be in line for the sack. This comes as Damian Green’s position, First Secretary of State and Minister for the Cabinet Office, remains vacant after he was sacked.
Reports also highlight Education Secretary Justine Greening, Conservative chairman Patrick McLoughlin, Commons Leader Andrea Leadsom and Transport Secretary Chris Grayling as candidates for the chop. These ministers were named at the weekend by The Sun on Sunday and The Sunday Times, which added Business Secretary Greg Clark to the hit list.
Those tipped for promotions include South West Surrey MP and Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, who could replace Damian Green, Hinds, Dominic Raab and Brandon Lewis.
