HOOK Community Centre is offering an exotic escape for local children this summer.

With the summer holidays now in full swing, the local community centre has two wildlife days booked which are open to animal lovers around the community.

On Tuesday. August 2, from 2.30pm kids and parents alike are being encouraged to “come and meet Safari Pete”, who will be accompanied by meerkats, snakes, owls, monitor lizards, toads, tarantulas, scorpions, and for one final bit of bite, Jayz the crocodile.

However, if snakes, animals with eight legs and crocodiles aren’t for you, on Thursday, August 4, from 11.30am to 4pm, it is British Wildlife day in Hook.

Visiting Sheldon Hall in the community centre will be Graham from Hydestile Rescue, Steve’s ferrets, Hart’s rangers, Willow Craft, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and other other complimentary wildlife activities will be on offer.

With refreshments available from Hartlett’s Cafe, the day promises to be filled with hedgehogs, birds and fluffier animals than those from two days previous. More information can be found at www.hookvillagehalls.co.uk.
