SPARKY the magician helped make a special children's party in Haslemere go with a swing on Sunday.

Junior guests at the Georgian House Hotel also enjoyed some soft play provided by the town's Hasletots, had their faces painted, and stopped for tea.

The event, which was attended by 18 families, was organised by the Home-Start Waverley charity.

It supports families struggling with the demands of bringing up young children by matching them with volunteers who can pass on their own parenting experience and offer advice during home visits.

Home-Start Waverley was set up in Farnham in 1998, Haslemere in 2002 and Godalming in 2011 and has helped more than 500 families and 1,200 children.

It is running three volunteer preparation courses in 2013 and is seeking more people interested in helping support families in the borough. For more details, call 01252 737453.
