WOULD-BE skydivers can enjoy the thrill and also raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell hospice, which provides daily support and end of life care for more than 250 patients.
It is arranging fundraising skydives with the Army Parachute Association’s experienced tandem instructors in the UK’s largest drop zone, the Airfield Camp in Netheravon, near Salisbury, in Wiltshire.
The charity has been holding organised skydive days there for more than 10 years.
Before the jump, all the necessary training is provided plus a meeting with the instructor and fellow skydivers.
The freefall speeds will top 120mph and there will be a fall of approximately 7,000ft before the instructor deploys the parachute canopy at 5,000ft for a five-minute gentle descent to the designated landing zone.
There are three Saturday dates on March 19; June 4 and September 25. For details call (01252) 729446 or visit www. pth.org.uk
