A different kind of roll could be sold in a former carpet shop as Greggs wants to open a branch in Farnham.
The famed chain has submitted plans Waverley Borough Council to open a branch at the Romans Business Park on East Street.
The former Carpetright store will be divided into two units, with Greggs taking up the right-hand unit closest to Pure Racket Sport and Majestic.
If approved, the reconfigured unit will include 31 seats and a toilet for public use in addition to the usual counters, cabinets and ‘hot’ section.
Farnham is thought to be the largest town in Surrey not to have a Greggs despite the firm having more than 2,600 branches around the UK.
Door chain, Todd Doors, is also expected to open a branch in the former AWS Bathrooms unit next to Pure Racket Sports.
The Herald has approached Greggs for a comment with more details in next week’s edition.
