SILVER surfers from far and wide made a beeline for Petersfield Infant School last week to catch up with their computer savvy grandchildren.

"We were absolutely inundated by the most grandparents we have ever had. By 9.30am they were spilling out of everywhere and we were bursting at the seams," said Allyson Crew, the school's delighted deputy headteacher.

The annual event invites grandparents into the school to see how the school's youngsters get to grips with its hi-tech tablets, iPads and other everyday gadgets.

"I think that some grandparents learned that their grandchildren are a lot more computer savvy than they are and also see how really happy they are at school," added Mrs Crew.
