MEG Daniels and Andrew Lodge from The Farnham Institute Charity visited Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice to present the hospice care charity with a cheque to help fund the vital work it does caring for local people living with a terminal illness, such as cancer.
The Farnham Institute uses the money it receives through renting the Farnham Institute building in South Street to donate funds to charitable purposes which benefit the residents of Farnham.
It has supported Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care since 1995 through a series of grants which have enabled the charity to purchase vital pieces of equipment for its in-patient unit and day hospice.
This grant, for £3,695, will be used to purchase a new pressure mattress for the in-patient unit which will ensure patients are safe and at their most comfortable during their stay.
“We would like to thank The Farnham Institute for this generous donation and for their ongoing support of our work,” said Sarah Brocklebank, chief executive of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care.
The Farnham Institute Charity, which has £30,000 to distribute by September 2016, welcomes enquiries from local groups and organisations. For more information, call Meg Daniels on 01252 711852 or email [email protected].
