HUGE support for Camelsdale Primary School’s crowdfunding ‘Clevertouch’ appeal has enabled it to replace not one but two whiteboards in record time.
The ‘Clevertouch for Camelsdale’ appeal aimed to raise £3,000 to replace one of five interactive whiteboards with a new, multi-sensory Clevertouch board.
Thanks to 86 donors, including several local businesses, the campaign raised £7,720 in just four weeks enabling the school to purchase two new boards, including an adjustable stand, plus money towards another.
As an added bonus, the Mabel Grant Trust, which was set up to help organisations and individuals in need in Camelsdale and Lynchmere, has also awarded the school a grant to purchase one more Clevertouch board.
A special ‘Stars to Tea’ unveiling of one of the two new whiteboards was attended by Matt Gander, Brian and Vicky Lall, Russell and Kim Seymour and trustee Peter May.
Headteacher Sarah Palmer said: “What an astounding result. We simply cannot thank our wonderful crowdfunding donors and the Mabel Grant Trust enough for the difference they have made to the teaching and learning experience at our school.
“Together, we continue to fulfil our ultimate goal, to provide ‘a flying start to a kearning life’.”
