PUPILS at Hale School came face to face with a walking, roaring dinosaur, as part of a special Dinosaur Day workshop.
Interactive learning specialists Education Group UK brought its T-Rex to Hale School , when Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children seized the opportunity to walk with a dinosaur - in reality, a life-like full-body costume that has animatronic features and a screeching roar, all of which are operated by a puppeteer.
Hale School’s dinosaur visit was supported by a donation from the Farnham Round Table. The group has also funded the school’s new pirate maths workshop and rugs for a number of classrooms.
Deputy headteacher Ann Wheeler said: “Hale School’s Dinosaur Day was a roaring success! The children loved meeting the T-Rex and it was a great way for them to learn about the dinosaur age.
“We are enormously grateful to Farnham Round Table for making the day possible and for their continued support of Hale School.”
The school is now planning more workshops for the next academic year, including an Author for a Day workshop in line with the next World Book Day.
