A SPECIAL Interest Group set up by Waverley Borough Council to investigate options for the former landfill site in Weydon Lane is set to report its findings next month.
The group - consisting of five councillors including the Mayor of Farnham, Pat Frost, - was established in January 2015 and has met on four occasions behind closed doors to consider options for the old rubbish tip.
These range from doing nothing to building a £3.5 million sports facility on the 10-acre site known locally as Brambleton Park bordering Upper Way, Talbot Road and Weydon Lane.
A Waverley spokesman said: “Having engaged with technical advisors and interested parties, including the Friends of Brambleton Park, the findings of the group will be reported to the council’s decision-making executive committee on March 1, 2016.”
